Try enabling passive FTP in whatever client you're using and see if that helps.

Yes.. whatever port you are trying to access must be able to pass through the firewall.

I tried to install Red Hat ( and the setup woldent partition my hard drive.Said not enough space I have 60 gigs free.So I went with mandrake 9.1.Dont know if I like it yet dont know what Im doing yet.Cant get sound to work its onboard sound.
MSI KT2Ultra
WindowsXP dual Boot Mandrake 9.1
Athlon 2400+proc
512 ram
nvidia g4Ti4200 128 MB

I've used both and still like Redhat, SuSe is a close second place for me. If installing at home, use a test computer and try them both for fun.
