Im new to linux but anyways,
im gonna install redhat for the second time on my computer
anyone want to give me any pointers?
like what theme to use?
i dont even know if thats what i call it lol

i need some pointers for linux redhat =/

do you mean choosing between gnome -- kde, or the different classes for install? (like server, workstation..etc)

well 'server' means you want your redhat box to function as a linux server. while 'workstation' is the standard desktop install. (makes it look like windows) the rest of the types speak f/themselves. when i installed redhat, i picked workstation and kde.

there really should be a manual on your cd to learn more, redhat's site should also have a manual for dl. better get it while they still support the product.

GNOME 2.4!!!!!!!!!!! Gnome is my fav desktop manager. go get Fedora Core 1 (http://fedora.redhat.com) It's RedHat's free open source version (It's like RH10) It's got all of the latest drivers/apps/all that other good stuff, it's the shiz. you should go d/l it right now hahah Good luck.

If you're gonna partition your drive make sure your swap file is about 200 megs more than your total ram in your comp. It'll run so smooth.

http://art.gnome.org and http://kde-look.org are both really good sites for themes/bg/icons and that stuff, according to which dm you choose.

if you get fedora go to irc.freenode.net and go to #fedora, you can learn a TON of stuff there, and people there usually have an answer for any question out there
