I have a laptop which my friend got from her job when they replaced her's. It's running on Win NT but I never am able to access anything. I think it was always accessing a server at their corperate HQ and always asks for a password of which I have no idea.Is there any way to format the HD so I can startr from scratch?

Depends on the method used to Password protect it.

So what is the laptop?

I assume you've done the usual key-presses to access the BIOS?
You can format the hard drive till the cows come back - the Password if it's half decent will be in the BIOS or worse.... in the ROM or firmware.
