I want to lan two pcs, one of which has Windows 2000 and the other has windows XP. I've lanned pc's with XP before but I'm having problems with 2000. I can't share files between computers. The method I try is attaining the other's IP address and then typing that into the "run" application. When I do this on either machine it asks who I want to log in as and their password. Neither pc's have passwords so I can't access the other pc. I also tried to go into the workgroup that both are a member of but it tells me that too many people are accessing it so I can't use it. Could anyone give any advice?
