Lagging issues, need help please.

I frequently play online pc games such as Smite, LoL, DCUO, and others. Recently (about a month or so ago) I started to experience some hardcore lag in these games. when before I never had an issue with them. I got a new nic card but that didn't do the trick, so i got an ethernet cable and that didn't seem to do the trick either. I was wondering if anyone would have some insight on what may the problem?

RAM: 8 gigs
Processor: AMD A8-5500 APU with radeon HD graphics

some things to try

check for driver updates, windows updates, router updates, and game updates. install all software updates to the latest and greatest.

run a speed test when the problem happens. do a app switch out of the game to your windows desktop. and goto speedtest.net to evaluate how well your internet connection is doing.

run spyware scans. superantispyware, malware bytes, spybot.

check out windows event viewer for clues to problems your machine is having behind the scenes.

open check out windows task manager to check out memory levels.

throw machine in the trash and buy a new one. rofl.
