Default Keyboard typing wrong letters

Most of the letters come out ok, but some of the keys writes wrong letters e.g. key with letter 'I' gives '5', 'O' gives '6', etc. And it's not the problem of keyboard layout, it's U.S. English and never been changed to another one. Problem persist in each application including command prompt. OS is XP Pro. Norton didn't detect any virus. Anyone has a clue?

Sounds like a faulty keyboard.
Every key on a keyboard corresponds to a number eg: the letter 'A' translates to 65, then your computer see's 65, and knows that that is a 'A'.
Sounds like your keyboard is giving the wrong numbers.
