first off when did it start doing this and second use your onscreen keyboard to type back since its not working start > accessories > accessebility > on screen keyboard

aha

it happened when i was downloading torrents and watching VLC. first i heard a strange clicking noise when i moved the mouse. then my q,w,e,r,u,i,o, and p keys stopped working. None of my keys are stuck. Could it be the keyboard/

oh, and in notepad 'a' comes up repeatedly. 'shift' doesn't work.

try another keyboard if you have one and if that doesnt work download ad-aware personal also windows defender

run those two programs and if it still does it post back. and i can assist you more

i ran adaware, nothing.

eset pestpatrol found a keylogger that i removed, but same problem.

my OS is no good for Defender.

let me try your other solution before I shop for a new keyboard.

you can just restore your pc to before it started doing the keyboard thing if you have 2000 or xp if you dont kno how to do that let me kno

I had a similar program Sunday and swapping keyboards fixed it
