I get a message when shutting down windows XP SP2 that says "end program - kernel32.dll" I cant figure out for the life of me what's causing it to do this every time I shut down my computer. Its really annoying cause I have to hit the "end now" button. Someone help!

is it happening since the installation of SP2?

Perhaps a SFC /scannow

go start -> Run -> sfc /scannow

(You need the XP Disk handy)

And / Or

System restore to time when it was working.

Actually its been happening ever since I bought windows XP that came with SP1. I dont know if the SFC scan helped yet. Will know tonight when I shut down.
