Default Java > Trouble Viewing

Hey,
Okay I'm having trouble viewing Java stuff on websites... I know I have the latest software from java.com installed & everything.. but it only kicks on for about 1/2 the java things I run into. But it usually just won't show the java applet or whatever, & I'm not sure how to start it up manually (looked in the folder.. couldn't find the right thing to click on, if there is one.) Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure that it is java that you need for those sites.
Seems strange that it will only work for some and not others.

Maybe the things that you were really trying to view were shockwave or flash.

Well, I think so. It says stuff about "Java Applet" and stuff, but I dunno.
