Default IrfanView

Can someone who uses this software please tell me how to use it to capture a screenshot with it and paste it in a thread like this. A step by step instructions would be great. I appreciate it greatly.

ok I tried that with a screenshot of my desktop and i tried saving it but I get an error saying "the image in the clipboard is larger than the bitmap. Would you like the bitmap enlarged. I select yes. It then shows my complete desktop but I can't change it to a plain .bmp. Why not?
