Default IoCtl failed

ok, what is it telling me when I get this message? I left the PC on all night (it's always on) and I was running Ares, AVG Antivirus & MSN Messenger as Internet apps. I woke up and it said: IoCtl failed. I don't remember the title of the window but after I cciked OK I had no internet connectivity! any ideas?

Is your connection still down?
IoCtl is a TCP/IP socket function that may fail during access to the net using an application that has a permenant connection to the net while connected (ie: browser, IM, etc). Shouldn't cause a permenant problem though. If you still receive the error, try and pin-point the problem application by only running one at a time, etc. Then perhaps uninstall it and re-install the application.
