Internet probs

Hi guys
sorry for my first post to be a major problem but me about to pull me hair out .
I have a dail up account to the internet, which has no problems connecting at all, but after serveral minutes (random lenght of time) it disconnects.

Has anyone had any simialr problems
i'm with NTL a british phone provider, i have recovered my pc back to original settings, and installed all the updates i can, all of which have made little if none improvement.

All i do lack is decent firewall protection.
is there something doing the rounds like the blaster worm thats killing connections?
any help / advice would be a god send

Could be a worm I guess.. Kinda hard to tell..

Someone else had the same problem not too long ago in this forum (on second thought, it might be in Hardware Zone), might wanna check that out.

The problem to this is that there is a problem with the NTL DNS server i contacted them i said it is everywhere not just me hehe they are working on the problem and hope to have sorted it soon
