Default internet explorer question

I'm on a cable modem , and every time i open IE and type a site in (any site ) it sits there for like a minute or longer not moving then it finally goes and then site browsing is fine unless i close it or open another one does the same exact thing , BUT when i use everythign else they load soon as i open it like irc,and even my moms aol thing what could be causeing mY IE to do this I upgraded to 6 and that didnt solve it and my OS is win98

I've heard this from a few other people. It's some bug or virus that's screwing up people's IE's.

Download Opera ( and ues that. Less prone to things like this.

make sure you don't have "Use Proxy Server" checked in the IE options under 'connection'. This usually causes a long delay as the system is trying to locate the website information from a non-exsistant proxy server.

Try Mozilla 1.4. Its very good.
