I'm pretty computer savy and I've tried everything I could think of to figure out this problem, but I'm out of ideas.

While loading webpages IE lags for about 10-20 seconds before connecting to the site. Once it connects the page loads normally for the most part ( it does slow on some images though, almost like it's reconnecting to the site again).

I have no idea what could be causing this, as Opera does it as well. I've been using firefox without a problem and do not see the problem encountered with IE when using it.

I really don't need IE, but there a few web pages that I go to that Firefox has some issues with and I'm forced to use IE. Any suggestios would be great.

Yes, I did default all the settings and what exactly do you mean by AV applications?

Also, I'll add that once the site loads, and as long as I stay within in that sites domain, everything works loads normally. However, once I change websites, it will repeat the process of taking 10-20 seconds to connect before loading anything.

Yes, I've deleted the cache, I also have McAfee installed - which I'm sure you can tell by the HijackThis log:

I looked through it, didn't really see anything I don't recognize.

You are right... Your HTJ log looks clean. Will you test something for me? Stop all Mcaffee apps and services. Im wondering if your IE is being routed through your MCaffee, and inturn is slowing it down.

You may even want to access your startup tab through msconfig and disable it that way... Then restart and test your IE that way.

I stopped all McAfee services and turned all related startup items off, still no effect.

I'm beginning to think that IE is just damaged somehow.

If so, you can do a repair on the OS which will inturn repair your IE.
You may have the option to repair IE directly through Add/Remove Programs. You will need to hit the uninstall option, then select "Repair" if its available. You will most likely need your OS disk.
