Installing windows XP

hey i have just built a computer and when i install windows this error message comes up it says


Fatal Error

an error has been encountered the prevents the setup from continuing

one of the components that windows need to continue setup could not be installed

incorrect function

error
installation failed: d:\1386\asms.
error message:incorrect function

what should i do, i think i might be my cd

Cold be your CD or it could be your hardware. Are you using a SCSI computer?

clean the cd, and then try again.. the set up going wrong is most likely caused by that. Sometimes you can do it again and itll go over fine.

i have cleaned the cd and im using a IDE 120gb westren digital
