I have computer with WinXP on it. I want to install Linux. I don't want a dual boot, just a single partition with Linux. Where do I get a Linux boot disc? I'd like to have Linux on disc, can I download it off the web? I looked at redhat.com but couldn't find anything. Thanks.

u can try www.linuxiso.org. once you download the iso use a program like nero to burn it to a disk and then go into your bios and change it so that cd rom is the primary boot drive and then just restart your comp with the linux disk in the drive.

u can get it off bittorrent also. Its simple, burn it as image, then boot with it, and fallow instructions. Depending on the distro u choose, i would do a lot of reading b4. especially with ones like slakcware. go to www.linuxquestions.org for help.
A user friendly one is suse 9.1 its only 1 cd.
slackware is a real good one, but quit complicated to install at 1st.
Look up my older posts about linux, there are a few links that could be usefull to you.
