I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it's the only that seemed right...anyway, onto the problem at hand.

I have a problem installing programs. What happens is the install file starts, normally you agree to some agreement or other, click "Next to install", and it's supposed to start unpacking/installing whatever to whereever you specified.

Instead of that, the install never starts. I still see the install window, but it's blank, no progress bar, nothing except maybe a heading at the top saying what I'm installing.

I run Win2k, can anyone help please?

Here is a screenshot, in case it helps any.

This happens with all installs, not just this particular one, by the way.

If I were you the first thing I would do is a full virus/spyware/malware check. Download and run:
Norton AV Trial
AVG Antivirus (free edition)
Spysweeper Trial
Adaware
Spybot: Search and Destroy

It's usually best to run these programs in safemode and disconnected from the net

Then defrag when you're done.

Ah...I guess some things work, and some don't? Spybot installed okay.

EDIT : When installing AVG, it says it "Cannot find window class (1407)"
