Default Installation of DirectX won't finish correctly (XP)

OK, I download the latest DirectX (filename dxwebsetup.exe) and try to install it. However, after the "I accept the license agreement blah blah" window when I click Next; a window comes up saying:

An internal system error has occured.
Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your windows folder to determine problem
After clicking OK comes an "Installation Failed" window.

Please help me solve this problem! It's really annoying not being able to play Red Orchestra.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I didn't find anything with the search function.

Thank You again,
