I had WinXP SP1 installed on my computer since June 2003. I never reinstall it coz it has been working just fine and no problems.... until lately, I can't install almost any software. I tried to update to SP2. But I can't coz everytime I try to install any new software, the process stops in the middle. No error msg, no CPU usage.
I tried creating a new user and copied some of my profile over. At first, it worked just fine. But after 3 days. The problem came up again.
I also tried deleting NTUSER.DAT hoping that it would solve the problem. But it didn't...
My free disk space and memory are sufficient. What should I do besides reinstalling my WinXP ? Is it becoz I install and uninstall programs frequently (I get bored with my games very quickly) ?
