install ontop windows xp

Now my laptop using window xp home , is it possilbe that I install the window xp pro( just got the cd) on top to the old one,? or i have to reformat and then only can install?

Back up your stuff and go with a clean install reformat and all.



Any reason why you won't pro on there as apossed to the home you have on it?
