Install fresh OS on C:

Sorry if this question is a little dumb.

Had to reinstall windows XP and I look on my C: to find a bunch of old programmes I don't want. How do I start again, fresh? Pretty much clear my C: and just have Windows on it.

put in your windows cd, restart, boot from the cd and follow the prompts.

How do I boot from CD?

It will either do it automatically or you will need to get into your bios and set it to boot from cd
