Default IE running slow

ok when i first loaded windows about a month ago. IE would open almost instantly after being clicked on. Now it takes 5-7seconds from doube click to open. WTF. I ran a adware scan and im clean. I have tons of crap disabled in my startup. Why does IE SUCK SO BAD.besides it being microsoft

IE's great. That's why it's used by 98% of the world's internet surfers.
IE also encounters a lot of problems. Because 98% of the world's internet surfers use it.

Bigger net, catch more fish.

Run disk-cleanup, delete your files and history from within IE, and THEN...go to Tools->Internet Options->General Tab, click on Settings, and adjust your "Temporary Internet Files Folder" to allow more MB of space. I think by default it's 64, which is WAY too low. If your's is low, set it a good bit higher, like 400 or 512. Mine's set to 3400, just because I do webwork on it. You should also verify that there are no files in that folder (see the View Files button below the slider).
