Default Identity Management

Ok so I have to investigate Identity Management.

Does anyone out there have any good suggestions as to
what to look at and best practices?

I wasn't sure where to post this thread, OS and Software seemed the best place.

Thanks for any feedback.

Uh... Smart Cards?? Encryption key on floppy disk via syskey??

I've not dealt with them, but i understand the premise of how it works. I guess the other question is are you doing it for some sort of organization, or just for kicks and giggles?

may be some voice recognition or magnetic strip readers. also like mention above smart cards, they are really cool things, i use to use them in the service to access personal information over the internet. you can program a web page that the only way to get access to it is by using the smart card. id on't know how can you do that, but i have see it!!
