Ide Drives Installation Error

I went to turn on my computer this morning and got the red message "IDE DRIVES INSTALLATION ERROR: For best reliability & performance, please change the stand alone slave drive to master. System Halt..."

Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Have you tried what it says. Changing the Master to the slave drive and the slave drive to the master?

I tried that and then just disconnected the one drive and it worked. Does that mean that the one drive is broken then?

It oculd be that the drive died. Try hooking it up as the slave and see if Windows recognizes it. If it does my suggestion would be to get all the info you can off of there. Chances are teh drive is on its way out or already has died.
