IDE to AHCI @ Win 7

I know how to it. I did it with my last system. I just forgot to set it to AHCI after I installed 7. And I didn't bother with it til now.

I did exactly what said to do. The registry edit, restart in BIOS, set to AHCI, restart.

But when I get past post, I have a blinking cursor. I thought this was Windows updating the driver, but I let it set for a good 30 minutes, nothing more.

But if I go back into BIOS, and set it to IDE, restart, it goes fine into Windows.

Error message when you start a Windows 7 or Windows Vista-based computer after you change the SATA mode of the boot drive: "STOP 0x0000007B INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE"

Maybe that link directly from Microsoft will work?

Well if all the edits were done right and it still doesnt take, the only thing I could suggest would be a format or an inplace upgrade. The edits should have taken, but since they didnt there isnt a real solution.
