I went into msconfig....

I went into msconfig becuase i needed to turn off some programs to make my computer run faster... then on the first tab where it says general i clicked the one that "uses only basic system services and programs" and then when i figured out that that doesnt include my firewall... DANM! so now i unno how to turn it back on, Ive tried everything and nothing has worked... any suggestions?

just change it back to normal startup then manually deselect anything you don't want loading

No, turn on the firewall from the control panel. If you have SP2 - in control panel will be "security center" icon >> "windows firewall".

If the service is turned off manually via msconfig, it might not be able to start via the CP
