I need help with Java!!

i downloaded the link, which seemed promising as it started to download, however i got an error message "Error 1722. There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program ran as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

Attempt this first and let us know what happens.
If you can nip out the old java runtime se we'll try for a better version.

OP tried the latest version already in case you didn't see, but the software she requires didn't want to work, so we suggested trying an older version that the install instructions she provided suggested.
