Default i have no idea...

alright. my computer kept freezing in the middle of games/tasks. after checking somethings, i determined it was overheating.
i cleaned it out. (my heatsink/fan unit was near full of dust.) now it won't even start up. it'll occasionally give me:

TRAP C0000005 ====Exception=======

followed by a listing of numbers. i have no idea on fixes. does anyone?

I know this may be a little tedious, however having the stack text or trap frame info following the error would be most helpful. This error, namely c0000005, is a handle exception error. If you can provide as much of the other info that would be great.

Also, if you reboot several times, does this change any of the error or does it look as if the other information in the error remains the same?

tr=FFFF cr0=00000000 cr2=00039000 cr3=00000060

gdt=03FF base=0003F000 idt limit=07FF base=0003F400

cs:eip (i think) = 0006:00000008 ss:esp=0030:00060D0C (the D could be a zero) errcode=0000

flags=5005c700 NoCy NoZr IntEnUp TrapEn

eax=00000000 ebx=00000030 ecx=0000000C edx=00000001 ds=0000 es=7FF8

edi=00060020 esi=0006761E ebp=00067606 cr0=00000000 fs=0060 gs=0068

i tried... but now it's getting worse. it used to get right before windows began to start. sometimes it'd get me to select which mode to start, but it freezes within 10 seconds.

so it goes through POST then? maybe it is one of your hardware components causing the error
it may be that you accidently zapped some part of the computer (static electricity) while cleaning it out

It sounds like you might be right apokalipse.
Did you ground yourself first before messing inside your puter.
What chip are you using AMD or Intel.Is your cpu seated properly.If its a amd and the heatsync isnt seated right it will burn it up.Also make sure your fan works.Might be too late for that cpu though.
Later Spalt

spdf, that's your solution to everything.

Dark_Crusader5 i much doubt it's static electricity. did you revove your cpu heatsink or force it in any way? maybe you displaced the thermal paste or your fan got knocked loose.

-edit
revove = remove
