I forgot how to do this need some help

ok ok, before i refortted i was able to right click a file and under the name it was like moive.avi lets say and i was then able to jsut change it and boom the format would change to whatever i wanted. this is of course under properties but now that i formatted it doesnt do it anymore. I had seen somewhere in TF before but now i dont know how to do it and i cant find the thread about it. SO is there a way to make it change again ?

so you want to be able to change it from say avi to .jpg if you wanted to right?

Ive got a program that can change it for you..

well its not only to do like avi. to .mpg or something like that i have some files taht are .bin that i need to change to .avi and stuff.

My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > Hide extensions for known file types
