I.E.8 Error Message

Since recently installing I.E.8, I get the below error message. I changed the search settings and uninstalled and reinstalled I.E.8 and still get this message:

Internet Explorer - Search Provider Default
---------------------------
A program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider setting for Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search provider, Live Search (search.live.com).
Internet Explorer will now open Search Settings, where you can change this setting or install more search providers.

Any idea what the problem is?

Sounds like you may have a bug that is messing with the setting of a search provider. Download and run |MG| Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.35 and see if it finds anything. You may want to go through Osiris's spyware guide, too.

Ran Malwarebytes first thing and no luck. Will try Osiris's, but looks like it will take awhile. I removed I.E.8 and went back to I.E.7 and works fine.

Have you tried setting another provider as your default and then switching it back?
