im having an issue i think it might be a problem with internet explorer 6 whenever i click on a link that opens a new window the original window freezes and it never opens the window i click on is this a problem with IE or something else ive scanned for spyware twice would it help if i like killed IE and instiled it again? is that possible?

Make sure that you stay up-to-date with windows updates. This will ensure you have the latest version of IE.

try disabling the startup items in system configuration utility
by typing MSCONFIG in run window
after that click on startup tab and click on disable all and restart you computer

if that does not work just go ahead and follow this path and you will be able to reinstall the i.e

c:\windows\inf

and there would be a file over there which will be named as" ie" and just right click on it and click on install
it will show you a path c:\windows\inf\i386
just change it to c:\i386
the internet explorer will reinstall itself
restart the computer and
follow these steps and i am sure you will be able to resolve your problem

There is a program out called IE eradicator that does a nice clean safe removal of IE with causing any problems with windows. Try that if you want to remove IE. Then try reinstalling internet explorer.
