HUGE video files from Media Center

I record tv shows w/MC, but they're 3 GB for just one hour!

Is it best to compress them into zip packges until I watch them?

I have a 250 GB HD, but I've only 2% left from all these huge files.

And what about burning them? It's almost one hour of show to one disc!

Will media center let you record using a codec? If so, use one, it will save space bigtime at the expense of a little CPU power. If not, use something else to record with, 3GB per hour is silly.

you have 4 setting to record these superior high quality mpeg files
(they are called dvr-ms files). set yours to fair.

I set mine to good and it takes like 1.75gigs an hour. that "good" quality video is superior to most other programs "best" video
