you are having trouble creating the ghost image you wish to push out, correct? you shouldn't use multicasting for this. run ghost normally on the machine to be imaged and save the image on the server.
These directions guide you through multicast ghosting PC(s) using an existing Ghost image.
Install Ghost locally to a PC other than the one being ghosted.
Go to Start, Programs, Symantec Ghost, Multicast Server.
In the Session Name field, type in a name for the session (any name is ok).
To populate the Image File field, click on Browse and browse to the image that you wish to multicast out.
Click on Accept Clients.
Go to the workstation that you wish to send the multicast image to and insert a Ghost Multicast Boot Disk.
Boot the PC.
When Ghost begins, click OK.
Select Multicasting and enter in the session name that you entered on the Multicast Server.
Click OK, OK until the PC is waiting for host to send image. You can remove your multicast boot disk at this point.
Boot each PC that you wish to reimage with your Multicast Disk.
When you have booted up and started Ghost on each PC that you wish to reimage, return to the PC that you are running the Multicast Server on and click Send.
When the image transfer has completed, close the Ghost Multicast Server program and allow Ghost to reset each machine. (Note: Remember to remove boot disk if you have not done so already.)
