Hp bios not booting from cd

I went into bios and changed the boot order to cd first.. And it's only giving me the option for hp hard drive and hp notebook.. Can someone help? Trying to install win 8.1 on fresh partition

did you mean a dvd drive? I do not think you can use a windows 8 disk with a cd drive

As u see I have cd rom drive first in boot order... Not sure why it says cd drive.. It's a DVD rw drive

If your installing Windows 8/8.1 then you should enable UEFI Boot Mode

I clicked enabled.. And now it shows that mode to pick when I boot.. But says error loading and jus brings me to win7

Check the dvd drive itself with a working operating system to see if it can properly read a dvd disk
Is this an internal drive or a USB dvd drive?

Yeah its an internal drive.. I jus burned something not long ago on it..

In uefi boot order should I move up OS boot manager before notebook upgrade Bay.. But don't think that'll don't nething cause it gave me the option to choose one I tried both and got the same error

Says error occurred with the boot selection verify media is present and retry.. Maybe it didn't burn right? Weird..
