Question how to set the default browser in w2k?

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for sometime now and am very pleased with it, i think that its time to put IE out to pasture on my system. I have set Firefox to default browser in its option menu, but when I connect to the internet via dialup, IE still opens by default. How can I stop IE from opening automatically, I don't want to uninstall it, just have it as a secondary browser in case it is needed.

That's happening probably because ur using the dialer software provided by the ISP ...

That app might have an option to launch browser when connected.

Just stop using that dialer n' just create a fresh one in dialup networking.
