Hello,

I just transfered many files from an old 486 machine and I cannot open any of these in any editor.

I have attached 2 of these in a zip file.
I tried to open them with Notepad, Word, Open Office but without luck.

An output example is here:

Anyone has a suggestion?

Thanks a lot.

MS-DOS 3 was before the days of MS-DOS editor. It instead has a program called "edlin" for editing text files. How to use it though, i don't know.

what operating sys were the old files in?
what os are you opening them with?
are you trying to open them with windows dos or dos?

Still nothing....

The old computer is a 486 with MSDOS 3.
I tried to open the files with all the available common editor of Windows XP and also with Linux.

I tried to open them from msdos as well using the edit command.

The output seems binarish to me.

Any ideas?
