Default how much? and what is it?

i see in stores around my area a pack that says windows xp home edition plus service pack 2 for $130.

is it the full operating system with a service pack? or is it just an expansion ?

i ask because im not sure how much it should cost

thats the whole operating system and when you install it on your computer, it install service pack 2 as well. Microsoft recently discontinued the issue of free service pack 2 and update cds so obviously some people wouldnt sell it for $130

Thats strange, I bought xp home with service pack 2 for my father's computer at christmas and it was $99.99.

If you want ti find it cheaper, you can look around on the internet. Sometimes if you buy hardware too, you can get a good deal.
