How to get bookmark data from the old corrupted windows

I have a problem. My older windows got corrupted due to a virus attack. I have to install a new one on another drive. Though the old data of that windows still remain there. I want to get the old bookmarks data of Internet explorer which is in the MY Documents Folder. But If I goto that folder it asks me for administrative rights (which were for the late windows and I can't have these rights as that windows is no longer working). Can Anybody help me out on extracting that Data Thanks!!!

How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP

Take ownership of the folder. Then get your bookmarks out.

If push comes to shove, you could use a live CD of a flavor of Linux to go in and get the file.
