Default How to find XP registries?

http://gear.ign.com/articles/554/554744p2.html

There it teaches me how to optimize my PC for HL2.
It says go to file > export > to make a backup for registries.

IN which folder or directory do I go to to do that?

I am running Windows XP with NO service packs.

Thanks.

Why dont you have SP's installed? You can save them where ever you want. Just name it registry backup..

Go to start, run, type regedit. Go to file, then export, find the location you want to store it in and click export.
