Hi

I have the acer aspire 6530g around 1 week old and its running or was running vista.

I thought I would go back to factory default so I used the alt f10 restore function.

Restarted the laptop and when I saw the first screen I pressed alt f10

The screen went black with a flashing dash in the top left

hand corner and that's all it did.

Then each time I turned it on I only got the back screen

I then manage to get the options up and running using a disc from another acer and when I tried to load the default image it gave me a path not found error.

This in turn let me restart the laptop. Great!!!!!!!

Now if I can find the correct root to the default image it should work.

I went in to disc management

It's got 3 partitions

First one is unlabeled and is 10gb capacity and 10gb free
Second one acer (c: 111.44gb capacity and 69.38 free
Third one data(d: 111.44gb capacity and 111.06 free

So the second has 42.06 used and as I have installed 1 to 2 gb of software I would think the default image would be some where on that one.

Does anyone know how I can find it and how to find the file path

Thanks

The only thing I can think of is "TRY" to get back into vista and start looking into each of the partitions for windows hidden installations files or folders.

How To Repair The Acer D2D Recovery

From the sounds of it after reading some of that, it sounds as if the built in Recovery Partition is gone and you will have to contact Acer if you did not make a set of Recovery Disks.
