How do I switch my default media player?

Its been so long I had to do it I forgot. I'm trying to download a video but everytime I click on a link to download it it brings up another web page with quicktime on it. It never did this before I upgraded QT. Something just popped up and I clicked to download it and it did. It wont now. It takes me directly to Quicktime.

Open up Media Player :
Select Tools/Options/File Types.

Save the file to hard drive. Right click on it and select "Open With..."
Then click choose program. Choose the program you want to defualt open that file type.
Check off the box that says "always use this program to open the type of file"<----- or something along thoose lines.
