I need to transfer Windows XP SP2 from my old computer to my new one. How do i go about doing this. is there any certain type of disk i need or what I really dont want to go out and buy a 150 operating system when i know i can make a disk here at home. Thanks guys.

All depends if you have an i386 directory in c:\

If yuo dont, you can't do this then, you need to borrow an XP cd

if it an c:\i386 directory copy it to somewhere else like another hdd or partition. get you a bart pe disc, boot from it and head to the winnt.exe I think. I haven't done it in awhile. did I send him to the right file warez?

Yes you did EricB

Get the bootdisk from here: Nerdlabs - Boot Disk Images

  1. Start the computer with your chosen boot disk.
  2. Change to the cdrom drive.
  3. Go into the \i386 directory on the cdrom.
  4. Run WINNT.EXE to begin the install process.
