I just installed xp on my gaming computer. The computer has a x64 intel quad core processor. I installed the 32 bit version of windows xp. Is there a way (like editing a file) to let xp access the full 6gb of ram? ( I do have a x64 processor) I know people have done this before but I cant find any tutorials on it. Can anyone help?

Can I do this with an update or installation of a service pack??

You need to do a clean install with a 64bit version of windows. Updates and service packs won't work.

Install a 32 bit OS twice ;)

But no, if you want 64 bit don't do Windows XP. Do either Windows 7 or 8 (I prefer 7)

Just fyi, 64 bit XP didn't always have driver support for everything. You would be better off getting Windows 7 if you're going to buy another OS anyway, which you'll have to do if you wanr XP 64bit. And they don't sell retail copies of XP anymore anyway unless you can find some leftover copies simewhere.
