How do I add something to run as a service?

I'm trying to add a program to run and be autostarted when the computer if up. How do I add it to the services?

drag a shortcut to the
"start/all programs/startup" folder
(assuming you're in XP)

That doesn't work. It's on a MS 2003 server.

manually enter it in the reg.
should be able to add it to:
hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
