i can creat a txt file named"CAWLURE7.txt".XP didn't say theres already a file by this name ..
later i change "CAWLURE7.txt" to "CAWLURE7", OK~!
now i can try to delete the orignal "CAWLURE7." ,it works !
but the newly created "CAWLURE7" cannot be delete ..
I refresh my desktop,then "CAWLURE7" changed to "CAWLURE7."

Try to keep track of the time and date stamp that is given to every file. When you go to delete it if it sends out a clone or copy of it just make sure you look for all files that were created at that time and date so you can delete all files that were created after teh original was deleted. A buddy has malware that did that and that was how he got rid of it.

i have tried .
it said can not find that file...
I just cannot understand ,why the file cannot be found but still lay there ...

so im not sure of this, maybe u have tried it and it just didn't work. but i wanna just be sure, did you: use one of your dos-bootable cds and boot staright into dos, use dir/ah to see the file and then just delete it?

I have tried what you said , i boot into real dos that support NTFS,
I use dir/ah ,yes,I can see it ,but when I delete ,I said can not find the file just as XP said ...
Now ,I am more and more suspicious : is it XP's File Systerm's Fault ? (mft error?)
Not very sure ...

have you tried changing the attributes in dos? you know attrib -a and attrib -h for that file?

it's been a while since i used dos as a main os, lol
so u can't: attrib-a, attrib-h, attrib -s ? or was it attrib -ahs?
too bad.

im runnin out of ideas...

can you give me the true path of the file? I'll write up a perl script for you to try. See if we can get rid of the file that way...
