I was reinstalling iTunes because it was giving me some error everytime I tried to open it... And suddenly I see this message pop up in the corner of my screen [balloon window] saying windows had a currupt file, then a second later my computer BSODs and restarts, I see my cpu is at 71C [I have it set to automatically shut off at 70, and it did while rebooting] ...so I wait and let it cool down.. start it up... "windows cannot start, blah blah HAL.DLL is missing" I have a clean install of XP on a smaller partition that I start up, it runs the error checking screen on startup [which it hasnt ever done before, I notice its checking my main partition for errors, the one thats suddenly broke] Anywho, I finish that and boot into my backup XP and notice that my windows folder on my main partition is completely empty, everything else is still intact.. but the ENTIRE windows folder is empty.

What do I do now..

Well you will either have to do a repair install and hope for the best or format and re-install.
