Default HijackThis bought by Trend Micro!!!

i never thought this would happen, but hijackthis has been bought. it was on download.com's home page today.
Download.com - Blogs - Spyware Hunt: A look at the latest security threats

"Trend Micro’s recent purchase of the popular diagnostic security app HijackThis has some users in a tizzy...Trend Micro flaws were discovered on all its products"
uh oh, does this mean hijackthis isn't going to be one of the top security tools anymore?

this makes me mad. there is already a 2.0 beta for hijackthis out.
i wonder if trend micro is going to charge for it when a final 2.0 comes out.

"Naming them would either make it clear that Linux is not infringing at all (which is quite possible, especially if the patents are bad), or would make it possible to avoid infringing by coding around whatever silly thing they claim,"

"So the whole 'We have a list and we're not telling you' should tell you something. Don't you think that if Microsoft actually had some really foolproof patent, they'd just tell us and go, 'nyaah, nyaah, nyaah!'?"

i just thought i would mention the news. i have the latest old version, but its not like ad-aware with downloadable definitions, and when new operating systems and viruses, adware, etc. come out, you're going to need a new version.
