hiding icons software

is there a software that allows you to hide the desktop icons with a single key, and uunhide when needed??

i wanna be able to hide my desktop icons bc i ahve a sh|t load of them. and wanna be able to see my wallpaper.. i just wanna have a nice clean desktop. with no icons. and when i need them , just press a button to show them

Use Iconoid, that's exacly what it does.

Pardon the bluntness, but why not just use the damn START menu? That's what it's there for...To organize the stuff you access. (In other words, don't be a mess.)

I do tons of things on my main box, and I have a grand total of 8 icons on my desktop. Everything else (documents, programs, folders, etc) I keep neatly organized in my START menu for easy and quick access. That way, all my screens show nothing but the pretty pics I have set as wallpapers.

That feature is built in to XP.

>> right click on desktop
>> arrange icons by
>> uncheck Show Desktop Icons

When you want your icons back just do the same and check Show Desktop Icons. It's a whopping 2 clicks but your hand will manage to survive.
