thats another thing...
his computer is so screwy
that when i reinstalled his os on his.....ahem...Dell...
it automatically assinged the drive letter to the hard drive as the F: drive....??
i have never been able to reassinge the stupid drive letter since! (C: by the way is his DVD player at this point)

well that will stay that way until you reinstall again. You cant change the drive letter on an active partition with an OS on it

with the os cd that comes when you buy a dell package
which is the dimsion 8600

next time you reinstall, use a windows 98 botdisk from www.bootdisk.com, windows 98 oem
