I built my computer a year or two ago. I set up a RAID 0 with 2 western digital 750 caviar files. I have a Gigabite GA-P35 motherboard.

One of the drives failed and I am now trying to get my computer to work again.

I went into the BIOS and changed the hard drive set up from RAID to Default.

I am not a computer expert and don't remember all that I did when I built the thing. I am now lost and looking for direction if anyone can tell me what to do next.

When I boot the system, I get a message "Lost operating system"

I am not trying to reset data. How do I reinstall the operating system? How do I fugure out which drive is bad? Do I need to remove it before I can get computer going again?

You need to use a reinstall disc for your OS to reinstall it.

Run a chkdsk /r on each drive and find out if a lot of errors get fixed; or just get a bootable HDD diagnostic tool (such as SeaGate's SeaTools, not sure what WD's is called) and run it on the drives.
